Privacy Policy
Puddle keeps your list on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. The developer never sees the names, amounts or notes of your subscriptions. There are no accounts and no ads, and nothing is used for tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
Your list and iCloud
Your subscriptions sync through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit). Only you can read it; the developer can’t.
On-device suggestions
Groups and review suggestions are made by Apple’s on-device model. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Exchange rates
Exchange rates are downloaded from open.er-api.com, or cdn.jsdelivr.net when it’s unavailable. These requests contain nothing about you or your list; like any request on the internet, they show those servers your IP address.
Usage statistics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
Puddle uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, services of Google, to learn which features are used and to fix crashes.
- Usage statistics record actions in the app, such as “a subscription was added” or “the paywall was shown”, with details like the subscription’s period or whether a reminder is on, and general facts: how many subscriptions you have, your base currency, language, appearance and accessibility settings, a rough monthly total range, whether you own Puddle Unlimited and whether notifications and widgets are on. They never include the names, amounts or notes of your subscriptions.
- Crash reports contain the technical state of the app when it crashed (code location, device model, iOS version, app version, free memory and the same general facts), never your list.
- Firebase receives a random app instance ID, a device identifier for this app (the identifier for vendor, which other developers’ apps can’t see) and your IP address, from which it derives your approximate country. This data is not linked to your name or email and is not used for advertising or tracking.
- Google keeps usage statistics for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days. Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Puddle Unlimited (RevenueCat)
Puddle Unlimited is sold by the App Store. Each time Puddle opens, it asks RevenueCat, the service that checks purchases for the app, whether Puddle Unlimited is owned. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID, a device identifier for this app (the identifier for vendor), your App Store purchase records for Puddle, and technical details such as the app version and your IP address. None of this is linked to your name or email or used for ads or tracking. RevenueCat keeps these purchase records so that purchases can be restored.
Feedback
If you send feedback from the app, your message goes through the developer’s server at dglfactor.tech to a private Telegram chat that only the developer reads. Along with your words it carries the app version, iOS version, device model, language and the number of subscriptions (never their names or amounts). The server forwards the message and does not store it; its logs keep the time and IP address of requests for no more than 14 days. Telegram stores the message in the developer’s chat.
If you write by email, the developer keeps the correspondence to answer you.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes its data from this iPhone. The copy in iCloud can be deleted in the Settings app, under iCloud storage. To have your feedback messages or emails deleted, or to ask RevenueCat to delete your purchase records, write to puddle@dglfactor.tech. Usage statistics and crash reports are not linked to you, so they can’t be found by your name or email; they expire on the schedule above.
Children
Puddle is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date, and in the app.
